HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Monday, January 11, 2010) – 2009 ASP Rookie of the Year and 2006 ASP World Junior Champion Kekoa Bacalso, 23, led his rookie class through a grueling year of competition amongst the world’s finest surfers last year, finishing No. 18 in the world. Not a bad start. The Hawaiian powerhouse kicked off his rookie campaign with a fifth place finish at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, showing the rest of the globe that he belonged alongside surfing’s most elite names. Now that Bam has a year of ASP Dream Tour competition under his belt the natural-footer is gearing up for his sophomore campaign and is hungry to climb the ladder towards an ASP World Title. Surfline.com caught up with Bacalso before he heads off to Australia to start the 2010 ASP World Tour season. This… is their story…
