Women Open Up Billabong ASP World Junior Championships
NORTH NARRABEEN, New South Wales/Australia (Monday, January 11, 2010) – The Billabong ASP World Junior Championships fueled by Monster Energy will commence this morning with the women’s Round 1 starting at 9am, men remain on standby.
Clean one-to-two foot (0.5 metre) waves are providing contestable conditions, and event organizers are hopeful that it will improve on the lower tide.
Following the completion of the women’s Round 1, the men’s Round 1 is scheduled on standby as well as women’s Rounds 2 and 3 on standby as well.
Up first this morning will be Sayuri Hashimoto (JPN), Malia Manuel (HAW) and Tyler Wright (AUS) in the opening heat of the event.
