Maresia Surf International Paracuru Still On Hold in Brazil, Next Call Thursday
PARACURU, Ceara/Brazil (Wednesday, January 27, 2010) – Only the weather changed. Now it’s raining but waves didn’t improve from yesterday so the Maresia Surf International Paracuru is postponed until tomorrow at 7:30am in Ronco do Mar beach.
The “plan B” is on the way in order to have other waves available for competition. The schedule must go on and ASP should run two heats at the same time in different beaches. Paracuru and Boca do Poço. Everybody agreed with that option in the last Wednesday call at 11am.
“It was the better choice like yesterday because there is a good fore for days ahead”, sad Brazilian Beto Fernandes who will compete in the first heat against North American Sterling Spencer and Brazilian Bruno Rodrigues who lives in EUA and is surfing under the USA flag. “I wish the fore is right so we can surf good waves. That’s the main thing”.
Beto Fernandes talked about his anxiety: “It’s always tough to be in the first heat because you don’t know exactly what judges want to see. That’s the first big challenge for us this year. The game is on and everybody wants to star the season well”.
The Maresia Surf International Paracuru 2010 is realized by Maresia with Classic Promoções, Federação Cearense de Surf (FCS) and TOP 16 Promoções. Co-sponsored by Governo do Estado do Ceará – Secretaria do Esporte, and the Prefeitura de Paracuru – Secretaria Municipal de Turismo, Cultura e Meio Ambiente. Media – Fortal 91,3 FM radio, Fluir Mag, Beach Show, Wave Wind and sites Waves, Cearasurf e EmfocoSurf. Watch live at www.aspsouthamerica.com.br
