Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Round 1 Back ON, Round 2 on Standby
BELLS BEACH, Victoria/Australia (Sunday, April 4, 2010) – The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by SNICKERS has been called on this morning, with the remainder of Round 1 scheduled to be completed in punchy two-to-three (1 metre) waves in the Bells Bowl.
The second stop on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach saw the opening 10 heats of Round 1 completed yesterday afternoon, and will look to recommence competition this morning at 8:15am.
“We’ve got some really rippable bowls coming through this morning and despite the wind, it looks like a good day to run with the new criteria coming into play,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, said. “We’ll be starting at 8:15am with the remaining Round 1 heats while Round 2 will be on standby.”
Up first this morning will be Jordy Smith (ZAF), 22, Patrick Gudauskas (USA), 24, and Jay Thompson (AUS), 27, in Heat 11 of Round 1.
