Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach ON at Thirteenth Beach

THIRTEENTH BEACH, Victoria/Australia (Tuesday, April 6, 2010) – The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by SNICKERS has relocated to nearby Thirteenth Beach for Round 2 of competition, commencing at 9am.

Stop No. 2 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro completed the opening round of competition over the weekend at the primary site of Bells Beach. However, with small surf on offer at Bells and lack of contestable banks available at the secondary site of Johanna, event organizers have arranged to run today in the punchy two-to-three foot (1 metre) peaks of Thirteenth Beach.

“We’ve seen a slight increase in surf throughout the morning and we’ll be commencing competition at 9am,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, said. “It’s not ideal, but it looks like it will be our best opportunity to run and we’re hoping conditions improve throughout the day.”

First up this morning is Bede Durbidge (AUS), 27, against wildcard Stuart Kennedy (AUS), 20.
