Final Day of Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach ON at Johanna
JOHANNA BEACH, Victoria/Australia (Friday, April 9, 2010) – The final day of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by SNICKERS has been called on today, with event organizers opting to relocate 90 minutes South to Johanna Beach where contestable three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves await the world’s best surfers.
Event No. 2 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach will its final day at the fourth venue of the event, having completed Round 1 at the primary site of Bells Beach, Round 2 at Thirteenth Beach and Round 3 and the opening half of Round 4 at Winkipop.
“There are good, clean three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves on offer today at Johanna and we’ll be getting competition underway between 10am and 10:30am,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, said. “We have beautiful conditions today and we’ll be looking to crown a champion by day’s end.”
Up first this morning will be defending Rip Curl Pro winner Joel Parkinson (AUS), 28, up against compatriot Adrian Buchan (AUS), 27, in Heat 5 of Round 4.
