FITZROY, Taranaki/New Zealand (Friday, April 16, 2010) – Punchy two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves are cracking along the black sand beach at Fitzroy today, providing the back for the final day of the TSB Bank Women’s Surf Fest, set to commence at 9:15am.
Event No. 3 on the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, the TSB Bank Surf Fest saw an action-packed Round 3 go down at Fitzroy yesterday, where reigning three-time ASP Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 22, suffered a shock elimination at the hands of wildcard Sarah Mason (NZL), 15, and the youngster will meet long Kiwi ASP Dream Tour representative Paige Hareb (NZL), 19, in Quarterfinal 2.
