SAN BARTOLO, Lima/Peru (Sunday, June 6, 2010) - Round 1 of the Movistar Peru Classic presented by IPD will commence this morning at 11am in pulsing three-to-four foot (2 metre) lefthanders in San Bartolo.
Event No. 5 on the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, the Movistar Peru Classic is into the second day of the waiting period and with plenty of surf still available, has opted to commence Round 1 with Round 2 on standby.
“We’ve been watching this reform lefthander all morning and there’s some very contestable waves rolling through,” ASP Women’s World Tour Head Judge Dave Shipley said. “We’ll commence Round 1 at 11am and monitor conditions throughout the day. Round 2 is on standby.”
Up first this morning Melanie Bartels (HAW), 28, Rebecca Woods (AUS), 25, and Nikita Robb (ZAF), 21, in the opening heat of Round 1.
