International Field Set for Great Waves at Keramas/Bali for Billabong Pro Junior
KERAMAS, Bali (Monday, July 19, 2010) – A star studded field of surfers have descended upon Bali for the annual Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-5 rated Billabong Pro Junior Asia.
Duel rated between ASP Australasia and ASP Japan, the field is stacked with Australia’s, Japan’s, Indonesia’s and New Zealand’s very best 20 year and under pro junior surfers along with numerous highly sed pro juniors from South Africa, Hawaii, Jamaica, Philippines and even Sudan!
Davey Cathels (AUS) is the number 2 seed at this event and he is bubbling with enthusiasm to surf this unique river-mouth at Keramas.
“It’s possibly my favourite wave in the world,” said Cathels. “Particularly to compete in, this wave offers surfers everything from high performance sections through to slabbing barrels and on any decent swell it is stacked with power – if we get it on like last year we’re in for an amazing event.”
The outlook is good with the recent swell that hit Jeffrey’s Bay for the Billabong Pro World Tour event now moving in on Indonesia.
