MANLY, New South Wales/Australia (Saturday, August 21, 2010) – Naomi Stevic (Noosa/Queensland) has posted the biggest win of her competitive career winning the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Blue Kiss Pro Junior at Curl Curl Beach in Sydney today.

Defeating Victorian surfer Nikki Van Dijk on a score line of 13.50 to 8.90 it was a dominant performance from Stevic in the clean 1 to 2 feet waves at Curl Curl.

“It’s really exciting to win my first pro junior and i’d like to thank everyone who helped organise the event and of course Layne for being an inspiration to us all – hopefully this is the first of many wins” said Stevic after the win.

At just 17 years of age Stevic still has three year in the Pro junior ranks and she’ll go into next season with confidence and an excellent seeding.

It was also a great day for Victoria’s Nikki Van Dijk who also notched up her best ever result and first final at ASP Pro Junior level – Van Dijk at just 16 year- of age is fulfilling her excellent potential and will also look forward to next year’s Pro Junior season.

The Dripping Wet Pro Junior Round 3 heats were also completed today and of most interest to the locals was the performance of Newport Beach local surfer Chris Salisbury who is desperately chasing a top result here and aiming to qualify for the ASP World Junior Championships.

Salisbury did not let his supporters down taking an easy win over fellow northern Sydney beaches local Tommy Myers (Freshwater).

Salisbury won the heat scoring 13.35 for his top two scoring waves to Myers on 9.5 and the stylish natural foot surfer will be eager to advance his cause in tomorrow’s finals.

Tomorrows final day action will be intense with a lot up for stake in the Dripping Wet and there’ll be action all day with 32 surfers remaining in the field and a winner to be crowned later in the day
