LOWER TRESTLES, California/USA (Wednesday, September 15, 2010) – Small two-to-three foot (1 metre) surf at the cobblestone pointbreak of Lower Trestles have forced event officials to call a third, consecutive lay day for the Hurley Pro at Trestles.

Stop No. 6 of 10 on the ASP World Tour, the Hurley Pro at Trestles kicked off competition on the opening day of the waiting period, completing Round 1 and the first five heats of Round 2 and have opted to wait for a promising swell expected to hit as soon as tomorrow.

“It’s another beautiful morning at Lower Trestles, but with smallish and inconsistent surf, we’ve called competition off for the day,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’re anticipating a recommencement tomorrow morning at will be back at 7am to assess conditions.”

Surfline, official forecasters for the Hurley Pro Trestles, are calling for the swell to build throughout the next several days.

Event organizers will reconvene at 7am tomorrow to assess conditions for a possible 8am start.

When competition resumes, up first will be Owen Wright (AUS), 20, up against Luke Munro (AUS), 27, in Heat 6 of Round 2.
