Rip Curl Women’s Pro Quarterfinals ON at Lagide, Champion Crowned Today

Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 22, reigning three-time ASP Women’s World Champion and current ASP Women’s World No. 1, will face Paige Hareb (NZL), 20, in Quarterfinal 2 of the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Portugal.

SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Saturday, October 9, 2010) – The final day of the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Portugal has been called ON, with the Quarterfinals commencing in solid, offshore four-to-six foot (2 metre) waves at the backup venue of Lagide at 12pm.

Event No. 6 of 8 on the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Portugal will crown its champion by day’s end.

“We have clean conditions at Lagide and will be commencing the Quarterfinals at noon,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ve waited for the optimum tides and are planning on running straight through to the Finals.”
