Rip Curl Pro Portugal Round 1 ON at Supertubos
SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Sunday, October 10, 2010) – Round 1 of the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, Event No. 8 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, has been called on in four-to-six foot (2 metre) waves at the primary site of Supertubos.
“We have been watching the conditions all day and the winds and tide have finally allowed for us to commence competition at Supertubos,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll be starting Round 1 at 1:30pm and planning on running through Heat 10.”
Up first this afternoon will be Adriano de Souza (BRA), 23, Taylor Knox (USA), 39, and Luke Munro (AUS), 27, in the opening heat of Round 1.
