Rip Curl Pro Portugal Round 4 ON in Glassy Belgas, Round 5 on Standby
Jadson Andre (BRA), 20, 2010 ASP World Tour rookie and current ASP World No. 10, will face Owen Wright (AUS), 20, and Jordy Smith (ZAF), 22, in Round 4 of the Rip Curl Pro Portugal.
BELGAS, Peniche/Portugal (Wednesday, October 13, 2010) – Round 4 of the Rip Curl Pro Portugal has been called ON in glassy two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at Belgas.
Stop No. 8 of 10 on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal will recommence competition at 12:45pm today with Round 4 up first and Round 5 on standby.
“We have beautiful conditions this afternoon and will commence Round 4 of competition at 1pm,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “It’s a bit smaller, but a lot more rippable than yesterday so we’ll run the four Round 4 heats and put Round 5 on standby.”
Up first this afternoon will be Matt Wilkinson (AUS), 22, Michel Bourez (PYF), 24, and Adrian Buchan (AUS), 27, in the opening heat of Round 4.
Magicseaweed, official forecasters for the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, are calling for the swell to dip slightly tomorrow before filling in for a potential finish on Thursday at Supertubos.
