SUNSET BEACH, Oahu/Hawaii (Thursday, December 2, 2010) – After nearly a week of lay days, the O’Neill Women’s World Cup of Surfing will be back on this morning in two-to four foot (1 metre) surf at Sunset Beach following the men’s ASP PRIME Round of 32.

Stop No. 8 of 8 on the ASP Women’s World Tour, the O’Neill Women’s World Cup marks the second stop of the prestigious Vans Triple Crown and is also a crucial event for women trying to requalify for a spot on the ASP Top 17 for 2011.

“We still have some swell around today and we’ll get back to action with the women this morning,” Richie Porta, O’Neill Women’s World Cup Head Judge Said. “We’ll pick back up with the Quarterfinals and plan on crowning a champion by this afternoon.”

The O’Neill Women’s World Cup, which runs in conjunction with the ASP PRIME O’Neill World Cup of Surfing holds a waiting period from November 24 through December 6, 2010 and is webcast LIVE via http://www.triplecrownofsurfing.com/oneillworldcup/

Surfline, official forecasters for the Vans Triple Crown, are calling for the current swell to slowly fade throughout the day with stormy conditions expected for tomorrow and only minimal surf for the remainder of the O’Neill Women’s World Cup waiting period.
