Lay Day for ASP 5-Star Volcom Pipe Pro

BANZAI PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Monday, January 24, 2011) - Organizers of the Volcom Pipe Pro, a $120,000 5 star ASP sanctioned event, rolled the dice on conditions today and came up with the decision to wait for more consistent surf. While the sun rose on some decent six-foot Hawaiian waves, only a small percentage were in the upper end of the range. Waves climbed to a solid eight feet later in the day. The holding period for the event began today and extends through February 5 with a total of three days of competition required. Organizers will reconvene at 7am tomorrow for another decision.
