Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast Called ON, Women’s Champ Crowned Today
Carissa Moore (HAW), 18, will face off against Snapper Rocks local Chelsea Hedges (AUS), 27, in Quarterfinal 4 of the Roxy Pro Gold Coast.
SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, March 8, 2011) – The Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover, the opening events of the 2011 ASP World Title season, have been called on this morning, with Round 4 of the men’s event commencing at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks at 7:30am.
With clean three-foot (1 metre) waves on offer this morning, event organizers have set the following schedule:
- Men’s Round 4
- Women’s Quarterfinals
- Women’s Semifinals
- Women’s Final
- Men’s Round 5
“We want to take advantage of the swell and conditions we have on offer today,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll be crowning a women’s champion today and setting ourselves up for a men’s finish tomorrow.”
Up first this morning will be Dusty Payne (HAW), 22, Tiago Pires (PRT), 30, and Adrian Buchan (AUS), 28, in the opening heat of Round 4.
