Hareb placed second in her opening Round 1 heat which saw her requiring a win in Round 2 where she defeated Suelen Naraisa (BRA) to secure her place in the next round when competition resumes.

The Billabong Rio Pro is event Stop No. 3 of 11 on the men’s ASP World Title Tour featuring the World’s Top 33 surfers plus one wildcard. Running in conjunction with the Billabong Rio Pro is stop No. 5 of 7 on the ASP Women’s World Tour featuring the ASP Top 17 women.

The men’s Billabong Rio Pro holds a waiting period from May 11 through 22 while women’s from May 12 – 16 and is webcast LIVE via http://www.billabongpro.com
