HUNTINGTON BEACH, California / USA (Tuesday, June 22, 2011) – Jack Freestone (AUS), 19, had a breakthrough year in 2010. After blowing up at the Oakley World Junior in Bali and winning the event, the talented Australian secured a 9th place result at the Billabong World Junior Championships in Narrabeen and his combined performance proved to be enough to secure his position as ASP World Junior Champion, marking him as the first Aussie man to do so since Joel Parkinson in 2001. Freestone is a lot busier now than he was a year ago and Surfline.com caught up with the reigning ASP World Junior Champ to see what has changed since he clinched his title. This… is their story…
