PUERTO ESCONDIDO, Oaxaca / Mexico (Tuesday, July 26, 2011) – After monitoring conditions throughout the day, the inconsistent nature of the rising swell has forced event officials to call the ASP 4-Star Quiksilver Pro Puerto Escondido competition off for the third consecutive day.
While a lengthy holding pattern has continued over the last three days, a promising swell is slowing showing its face and competition is scheduled to resume at 7am tomorrow morning.
“The swell we have been anticipating is slowly filling in, but not enough to restart the contest today,” Gary Linden, Quiksilver Pro Puerto Escondido Contest Director said. “This swell should fill in more overnight and I’m expecting conditions to improve substantially for the remainder of the event.”
When Quiksilver Pro Puerto Escondido competition resumes, Ricardo Santos (BRA) local charger Coco Nogales (MEX), Alejandro Moreda (PRI) and Gabriel Galdino (BRA) will face off in Heat 9 of the Round of 64.
The ASP 4-Star Quiksilver PE Pro holds a waiting period from July 21 through 28, 2011.
