Dane Reynolds (USA) took top honors in his Round of 48 heat when he posted the highest scores of Nike US Open of Surfing competition.

Dane Reynolds (Ventura, CA, USA (pictured) won his round of 48 heat at the Nike US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California, USA today. Reynolds’ top two wave scores were a 9.33 and an 8.10 totaling a heat score of 17.43. Reynolds posted the highest single wave score as well as the highest total heat score of the event thus far. Reynolds defeated Aritz Aranburu (EUK), Kolohe Andino(USA) and Julian Wilson (AUS). Reynolds will surf again in the round of 24 on the next day of competition.
