TEAHUPO’O, Taiarapu/French Polynesia (Monday, August 29, 2011) – The final day of the Billabong Pro Tahiti presented by Air Tahiti Nui, Event No. 5 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title season, has been called on this morning with the Quarterfinals commencing at 7:15am.

“The waves are still pumping this morning in the six-to-eight foot (2 – 2.5 metre) range and we’ll be starting at 7:15am,” Pritamo Ahrendt, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll be crowning a champion by day’s end so good luck to all our remaining competitors.”

Up first this morning will be Josh Kerr (AUS), 27, against Jeremy Flores (FRA), 23, in the opening Quarterfinal of the Billabong Pro Tahiti.

The Billabong Pro Tahiti presented by Air Tahiti Nui will be webcast LIVE via http://www.billabongpro.com

Surfline, official forecasters for the Billabong Pro Tahiti, are calling for a slow fading trend of swell over the next couple days, although there will be a slight reinforcing SSW swell this afternoon to keep the surf from fading too quickly. Light NE/ENE wind and clean conditions prevail Mon/Tue before easterly trades likely rebuild for the second half of the week.
