Dear ASP,

I’m really disappointed about the scores of the Slater X Medina X Buchan heat.
I understand that Medina didn’t complete his last aerial at his 8,23 wave. OK, I think it was a fair score for that wave.
Now, if you look Slater’s 8,33, camon, he wasted the whole first section of that wave and still got that score. I agree that it was a set wave, a bigger and faster wave in comparsion to the waves tha came before at the same heat. But Medina came in the right just after Slater’s wave. It was also a set, bigger and faster wave. Medina came nicely floating through the first section and went straight into a no hands backside aerial. Unfortonutelly he caught the edge of the board when landing, consequently missing the next section, but he did’nt fall. That wave was scored just 4,83. Camon, if Slater wave was a 8,33 for 3 snaps, Medina’s wave was totally underscored.
Since you did that before, at the Billabong Rio 2011, when everybody went nuts about the De Souza X Owen Wright heat, I think it would be welcome an official explanation about this heat, specially for the brazilians which are totally pissed off with your organization.

Your judging is a joke and you’ve lost almost all creditability with me in regards to your “winners/losers.”
I was born and married on Oahu, surfed for over 30 years, I respect K Slater and all he’s done/doing
for surfing but show some integrity in regards to your judging. If you’re going to artifically market
someone try a young gun. K Slater’s given 100%+, all current and future surfers owe him bigtime
for growing surfing to where it is today but, come on man….
