SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal (Tuesday, October 18, 2011) – The Rip Curl Pro Portugal, Stop No. 9 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title season, will recommence this morning at 8am in offshore three-to-five foot barrels at Supertubos.

Following yesterday’s incredible barrel fest, the world’s best surfers will do battle once again with the ASP World Title and the requalification campaigns of the world’s elite hanging in the balance.

“It’s dropped off a bit since yesterday but there are still some overhead waves coming through with clean conditions,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll get the boys out in the water for an early start at 8am and run through as much as the conditions will allow – event the Final is on the menu today. Obviously, we’ll monitor conditions and make the best decision we have available. Good luck to all our competitors today.”

Up first this morning will be Adriano de Souza (BRA), 24, and Travis Logie (ZAF), 32, in Heat 9 of Round 3.

The Rip Curl Pro Portugal will be webcast LIVE via http://live.ripcurl.com

The event will also be broadcast LIVE on FUEL TV in Australia and Portugal, Ma Chaine Sport in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and Africa as well as ESPN in Brazil.

Surfline, official forecasters for the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, are calling for the current northwest swell will be dropping off through today and tomorrow, although overhead set waves will continue today before fading further into tomorrow morning. A much smaller north swell will fill in late Wednesday and continue Thursday.
