There are about 100 surf spots on the South African coastline that are WAY better!
Sick right hand points up the east coast, sick left hand points up the west and plenty of swell.

Between the shark encounter and the victory at sea conditions that both Owen Wright and Parko said was some of the worst conditions they’ve ever surfed heats in, you gotta wonder if this is about quality surfing or if it’s some sort of sado-masochistic orgy. Oh I fogot it’s in San Francisco, so that it must be the latter.

There were a few good waves out there today, but, surely there are better spots on the West Coast of the States (or elsewhere in the world) that Rip Curl could have taken the Search to?! A shifty, average, cold water beach break is hardly somewhere surfers would hunt down on their “search”..
