OCEAN BEACH, California/USA (Saturday, November 5, 2011) – With stormy four-to-six foot (1.5 metre) waves on offer at Ocean Beach, event organizers at the Rip Curl Pro Search San Francisco have called competition off for the third consecutive day.
The Rip Curl Pro Search San Francisco kicked off competition on the first two days of the waiting period, running competition through Heat 10 of Round 3.
“Obviously today’s conditions are not ideal for competition,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “We’ve expecting conditions to improve over the next few days and with ample time remaining in the waiting period there’s no need to run heats today.”
When competition resumes Josh Kerr (AUS), 27, will face off against Tiago Pires (PRT), 31, in Heat 11 of Round 3.
The Rip Curl Pro Search San Francisco is Stop No. 10 of 11 on the 2011 ASP World Title Series with a waiting period from November 1-12. The 2011 Pro Search will be broadcast live on Fuel TV, Livestream.com and live.ripcurl.com
