The world awaits the recommencement of the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast.

SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Friday, March 2, 2012) – Poor wind conditions and non-existent surf have forced event organizers to call the third, consecutive lay day this morning for the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover.

The opening stop of the 2012 ASP World Championship Tour season, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro Gold Coast enjoyed incredible action throughout the first four days of the waiting period, narrowing the fields down to the men’s Quarterfinalists and women’s Semifinalists, and will recommence competition when conditions improve.

“There’s not much out there that you would classify as ‘contestable’ today and we’ve called a lay day for the men and women,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “It looks like we’ll see a directional change in wind and some swell materialize over the next 24 hours so we’ll be back tomorrow morning to reassess conditions and make another call then.”

Event organizers will reconvene at 6:30am tomorrow to assess conditions for a possible 7:30am start.

the problem with the tour is the judging system, yes they have made changes but the problem is is the scores become official too early ,just let the guys surf and analize each wave too get the true winner.

    Hi,

Re. Joel’s 10 – when was the last time somebody got a perfect 10 that didn’t involve an aerial (ho-hum!) or a tube, purely for a bit of power surfing?

  3. Ned says:

I like the pic. It’s arty.
