LOWER TRESTLES, California/USA (Wednesday, September 19, 2012) – Round 3 of the Hurley Pro at Trestles has been called on this morning, with building three-to-four foot waves currently gracing the iconic California pointbreak of Lower Trestles.
Stop No. 6 of 10 on the ASP WCT, the Hurley Pro at Trestles saw some amazing showdowns during Rounds 1 and 2 of competition before calling a lay day yesterday and the promising swell building at Trestles should provide the perfect platform for more action throughout the remainder of the event.
“The new swell showing is expected to build throughout the day and in to tomorrow so we’ll continue with Round 3 this morning,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “We plan on wrapping up Round 3 today and will have Round 4 on standby.”
Up first this morning will be five-time Hurley Pro at Trestles winner Kelly Slater (USA), 40, against progressive goofy-footer Matt Wilkinson (AUS), 23, in the opening Round 3 heat.
