COOLANGATTA, QLD/Australia (Thursday, December 06, 2012) – 2013 will see the ASP celebrate 30 years of crowning World Champions at the prestigious awards ceremony. What began in Hawaii has moved to the Gold Coast, QLD, Australia with 2013 seeing the ASP World Surfing Awards continue to evolve with a dynamic, new format.

Last year saw the first ASP World Surfing Awards live webcast with hundreds of thousands of surfing fans watching LIVE on YouTube and various TV Networks around the globe. Due to the success of last season’s broadcast, the 2013 ASP WSA’s will be a more content focused event, with never before seen videos and all the best action from a fantastic year of competitive surfing. Guests in the room will be seated in theatre rows as opposed to banquet tables, and will once again be treated to world-class hosts and musical artists.

Changes include:

• The event will be divided into two components; Blue Carpet Event followed by a theatre-style Awards Show.

• Blue Carpet Event will be a cocktail party with great food, drinks and entertainment.

• The Awards Show will be a tight and dynamic show with high energy on stage action and exciting onscreen content, along with Awards presentations and world-class entertainment.

• The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards will take place at the QT Hotel, Surfers Paradise.

Tickets are on sale for $250 (excl. GST and booking fees).

The ASP World Surfing Awards will be held on Thursday 28 February 2013 from 6.30pm
