Second Consecutive Lay Day for Billabong Pipe Masters

PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Tuesday, December 11, 2012) - A second consecutive lay-day has been called for the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons, with minimal surf on offer at Pipeline.

Stop No. 10 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Billabong Pipe Masters enjoyed incredible conditions for the opening two days of the waiting period and will likely go on a brief holding period in the anticipation of a promising swell expected to deliver later this week.

“As expected we’ve got small conditions at Pipe this morning and have called competition off for today,” Marty Thomas, Vans Triple Crown Contest Director said. “The swell on the horizon looks good for an exciting finish to the event, but with that said, we’ll still return tomorrow morning to make another official call.”

When Billabong Pipe Masters competition resumes Gabriel Medina (BRA), 18, Josh Kerr (AUS), 27, and Kelly Slater (USA), 40, will take to the water first in Heat 3 of Round 4.
