RIYUE BAY, Wanning/Hainan Island/China (Tuesday, January 29, 2012) – Super clean conditions have greeted competitors, officials and fans for day two of the ASP 4-Star rated Hainan Classic. Riyue Bay is pulsing out long two-to-three foot (1.5 meter) left-handers, setting the stage for an epic showdown in the hunt for ASP World Tour ranking’s points and US$95,000 in prize-money.

Dane Jordan, ASP Australasia General Manager was impressed by the standard of competition during yesterday’s proceedings and is looking forward to seeing more of the event’s top seeds hit the water.

“Yesterday was a fantastic day of competition,” Jordan said. “We’re all excited because the surf looks even better today. If we run another full day of competition today we could be down to just 16 surfer left in the draw at the end of the day. This will work nicely and set us up for a half day tomorrow because it looks like the surf may drop off.”
