SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Sunday, March 10, 2013) -The remaining eight heats of Round 2 at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast have been called on this morning, commencing at 10am in clean two-to-three foor (1 metre) waves at Snapper Rocks.

Event No. 1 of 10 on the 2014 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast completed the opening four Round 2 heats in punchy two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at Snapper Rocks yesterday afternoon and will witness the world’s best surfers return to the singlet this morning for the completion of the round.

“Conditions have improved significantly this morning with the dropping tide and we’ve called men’s Round 2 back on for a 10am start,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ll monitor conditions throughout the day, but have placed Round 3 on standby in the event that we opt to run through until dark. Good luck to all our competitors today.”

Up first this morning will be Owen Wright (AUS), 23, up against Dusty Payne (HAW), 24, in Heat 5 of Round 2.

The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover will be webcast LIVE via quiksilverlive.com
