Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast Final Day Called ON at Kirra, 11am Start

KIRRA, Queensland/Australia (Wednesday, March 13, 2013) -The final day of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover has been called ON this morning with the Semifinals commencing at 11am at Kirra.

Event No. 1 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast will culminate today, the final day of the waiting period, and the final four surfers remaining in the event will battle it out in three-to-five foot (1 – 1.5 metre) varrels at the world-famous Kirra.

“Biggest surf of the event window is on offer today and we’ll be commencing the final day of competition at 11am at Kirra,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We expect conditions to continue to improve with the tide and anticipate a good finish to the event. Good luck to our four remaining competitors.”

Up first this morning will be reigning ASP World Champion Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, taking on Michel Bourez (PYF), 27, in the opening Semifinal of the event.
